At its March 9 meeting, the Village of Sanford council approved the Feb. 9 minutes and authorized payment of bills totaling $255,910.40.
Marcus Thrush moved to accept the minutes and to approve the bills; Leah Ziems seconded and the votes were recorded as unanimous among members present. Treasurer Travis Raymond presented the monthly financial statements that were printed and distributed to the council.
Public-works and parks business included approval for vendors to operate at upcoming Sanford ball tournaments (Famous Dogs, Kona Ice, Gramps Popcorn and Dirty Sodas) and a DPW plan to repaint and replace gray trash cans. The council also approved a motion to purchase two grills using money donated by Randy Dyer; Marcus Thrush moved and Leah Ziems seconded the purchase.
Under new and outstanding business, the council said it will request a grant extension through May for the Village Park boat launch and anticipates the launch will be completed in April or May.
Why it matters: The approved bills represent the village’s monthly expenditures; procurement and vendor approvals relate to expected public events that require coordination with DPW and finance staff.
Next steps: Staff will proceed with vendor coordination, procurement and the grant-extension request for the boat launch. The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
