At its May 11 meeting the Village of Sanford approved bills totaling $28,085.63 and accepted the April 13 minutes. Treasurer Travis Raymond distributed monthly financial statements in advance of the vote.
Marcus Thrush moved to accept the April 13, 2026 minutes; Leah Ziems seconded and the motion was recorded as passed. Thrush then moved to approve bills totaling $28,085.63; Don Whaley seconded. The meeting minutes record Yeas: Leah Ziems, Marcus Thrush, Don Whaley and Carl Hamann; Nays: none.
Clerk Janell Kopke reported election paperwork has been distributed; filings are due by July 21, 2026. Jesse Brand announced an interest in the village clerk position and is collecting petition signatures. Council member Don Whaley said he will not run for re-election; the board noted that if no candidate files the board would need to appoint a replacement.
