The committee approved the draft 2026–27 school calendar (students begin Sept. 2, teachers Sept. 1) and included a second-page list of significant holidays to increase family awareness. The vote passed by roll call.
Policy JG (middle school pathway) received a second reading and committee approval. Policy ECAF (security cameras, including bus-mounted cameras) was presented for a first reading with no changes; it will return for further consideration.
The social-media/mobile-phone task force announced a community screening of the documentary 'Screenagers' on Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. with a post-screening panel and outreach targeted at elementary parents. The committee also provided a brief update from the school building committee regarding OPM selection and outreach planning.
