Road commissioner reports beaver-blocked culvert, fallen trees and planned repairs

At the Aug. 19 meeting Road Commissioner Keith Lacasse reported ongoing maintenance tasks and vegetation issues affecting town roads. Keith said he has been unplugging a culvert on Ingraham Road every day due to beaver activity and that excavation may be necessary to allow adequate drainage for Fire Department access.
He removed two fallen trees—one on Ingraham Road and another on Greylock Road—plans to mow road shoulders within two weeks, will patch rough spots on Mallery Road and by mailboxes at the end of Roys Road, and intends to fill a washout on Greylock Road with stone. Chair Jason Jayko said he would send a town-wide email to notify residents about upcoming road mowing and repairs.
These short-term repairs and vegetation-management steps are intended to maintain safe access on town roads and to reduce recurring maintenance caused by beaver activity and storm damage.
