The New Ashford Select Board met Aug. 19, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall/Zoom and unanimously approved minutes from the Aug. 5 Select Board/MLP meeting and the Aug. 12 All Boards meeting. Ken McInerney moved both approvals and Chair Jason Jayko seconded them; both motions were recorded as unanimous by the two voting members present, McInerney and Jayko.
Why it matters: approving minutes and signing the warrant are routine but necessary steps that allow the town to proceed with a Special Town Meeting in September and to document past actions. Chair Jason Jayko said he is preparing the warrant for the Special Town Meeting; the board reviewed and signed it at the Aug. 19 session.
The board also noted that the previously advertised fire-department addition bid opening produced no bids; Jason Jayko said the project will be rebid with a spring completion date. The meeting ended with the board setting its next meeting for Sept. 4 at 6:30 p.m., which will include the Tax Classification Hearing.
