The Select Board approved a motion on July 1 to appoint Susan Butler to the Housing Commission for a three‑year term, and the vote was taken by voice.
During the same portion of the meeting, applicant Ted Pitman addressed the board and asked to be considered for a full Conservation Commission seat rather than the alternate appointment that had been discussed. Pitman said he had previously applied for a regular seat and outlined experience that he said made him suitable for a full role. The board agreed to reach out to other applicants and to delay finalizing the alternate appointment until a short working meeting can be held to review letters and applicant interest.
The board also read announcements about vacancies and nominees for the Ashley Falls Historic District Commission and the Cemetery Commission and said those items will be taken up at the next regular meeting.
Next steps: the board will attempt contact with other Conservation Commission applicants before the alternate appointment is finalized and will post and process remaining vacancies as announced.
