Council hears road and utility updates; Freightliner parts received but repair costs pending

Public Works/Maintenance Assistant Adam Johnson told the council the city removed a large rock and a fallen tree from Aspen Road and crews continue to fill potholes; supervisor Darrin Dessner plans to spot-grade starting this week.
Johnson said Norman’s Electric is investigating a fault error at the pump house; he reported that pumps appear to be operating and that the fault may be caused by a faulty switch in the meter on the pipe.
On fleet repairs, Johnson said Syverson received parts to repair the Freightliner and the company plans to bring the truck back this week to review the vehicle with Dessner and Johnson; Johnson said Syverson told Acting Mayor Mike Ebner the parts manufacturer has not tested the broken parts. The council agreed to wait for the Freightliner repair cost estimate before pursuing purchase or refurbishment of a 2014 International 7500 backup plow truck.
Johnson also said Universal Truck is rebuilding the F-550 sander control box under warranty. The council scheduled a spring road tour for May 5, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. to inspect local roads ahead of the next regular meeting.
