Council awards landscaping and maintenance contract to BrightView after competitive bid

The City Council approved a one-year services agreement with BrightView Landscape, LLC on April 15 to provide landscape and maintenance services for city esplanades, facilities, trails, seasonal plantings, and ditch rights-of-way.
City staff solicited bids in February and received 10 responses. BrightView’s bid of $132,796.30 was recommended based on best value and reference checks; other bids ranged from ArborTrue at $125,431.46 to Yardworks Inc. at $168,783.00 and higher. The contract covers six service areas and funding will be allocated across the General, Utility, and Metro Funds. Council approved the services agreement 3-0; BrightView will assume responsibility on May 1, 2025, after the month-long contract extension with the incumbent expires.
