County staff presented the grant request as a straight funding application from Colorado Parks and Wildlife with no local match and said the total requested amount was $11,475.38. Staff described the packet as the final copy and said they would submit the request the same day.
Commissioners discussed why the grant amount grew from last year, with staff explaining the county’s most recent property reappraisal increased assessed values. Commissioners and staff also discussed that agricultural yields are averaged on a 10-year basis and that recent drought years can raise or lower averages depending on which years are included in the cycle.
A commissioner made the motion to approve the 2026 impact assistance grants and another commissioner seconded it; the motion carried. Commissioners then directed staff to file the grant paperwork that day. Earlier in the meeting the board also moved to approve the meeting agenda and expenditures.
After the votes, the board noted upcoming workshops including Title III funds and planned for a return presentation by a staff member, Melisa, in the afternoon. A commissioner then moved to adjourn and the meeting ended.
