The River Ridge Community Development District Board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1) during the Aug. 27 meeting and directed staff to solicit candidates to fill the unexpired term.
Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. On a motion by Mr. Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Twombly, the Board accepted the resignation. Board members noted that this is an appointment to fill the seat (not an election). The Board asked that Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA manager e‑blast residents about the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements, and ask interested candidates to submit a resume or letter of interest prior to the next meeting.
The Board also reviewed materials that will be provided to any prospective appointee, including required ethics training, sample Form 1 and Form 8B guidance, membership obligations, and a guide to the Sunshine Amendment and Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees.
Next steps: staff will include candidate materials on the next agenda and schedule oath-of-office administration if an appointment is made before the next regular election.
