The Board noted a second proposal is being obtained and the item will remain on the agenda for further consideration.
Board members discussed the FY2024/25 budget and Mr. Blumenthal’s updated five-year Capital Improvement Plan; staff reported the budget remains solvent. The discussion covered design and permitting for proposed guardhouses, the possibility of transferring funds into cash sweep accounts, and other upcoming projects. The Board scheduled the FY2025 budget hearing for Aug. 27, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.; supervisors confirmed quorum for that date.
Staff also indicated it will edit the financial statements to clarify that MRI plugged the end of only one pipe, not two. No formal contract award was made at the meeting; the Pinehurst inlet estimate will return for further consideration.
