Davison County Planning Commission elects 2026 chair and vice chair

Acting Administrator Karen Wegleitner called the Davison County Planning Commission to order at 1:15 PM on Feb. 3, 2026, and opened the meeting with election of 2026 officers. Motion by Dave Anderson nominated Bruce Haines for chair, seconded by Ray Gosmire; Steve Thiesse moved to close nominations and cast a unanimous vote, seconded by Chris Nebelsick. The commission recorded Bruce Haines as unanimously elected Chairperson.
The commission then considered the vice chair position. Chris Nebelsick moved to nominate Steve Thiesse, seconded by Dave Anderson. Lewis Bainbridge moved to close nominations and cast a unanimous vote, seconded by Chris Nebelsick. The commission recorded Steve Thiesse as unanimously elected Vice Chairperson.
The commission took routine actions including approving an amended agenda (motion by Dave Anderson, seconded by Lewis Bainbridge) and approving the Dec. 2, 2025 minutes (motion by Chris Nebelsick, seconded by Mike Blaalid); both motions passed with all members voting aye. The roll call listed Present: Steve Thiesse, Lewis Bainbridge, Dave Anderson, Ray Gosmire, Mike Blaalid, Chris Nebelsick, and Karen Wegleitner; Bruce Haines was recorded as absent in the roll call. The body set its next meeting for Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 1:15 PM and adjourned at 1:30 PM on a motion by Mike Blaalid, seconded by Dave Anderson.
