Westbrook Board unanimously appoints Kristen Trahan as Daisy Ingraham principal

The Westbrook Board of Education unanimously appointed Kristen Trahan as principal of Daisy Ingraham Elementary School, effective July 1, 2026, at a special meeting March 23, 2026. The board authorized Superintendent Kristina J. Martineau to have Trahan sign a three-year contract.

The appointment followed a review of the principal search committee’s interview process by Superintendent Kristina J. Martineau and a closed executive session at 6:02 p.m. to discuss a personnel matter. The board returned to open session at 6:38 p.m. and immediately considered the appointment motion.

Board member Mary Ella Luft made the motion to appoint Trahan; Paula Fitzgerald seconded. The motion passed unanimously with the ayes listed in the minutes as Justin Donarum, Mary Ella Luft, Elizabeth Fernandes, Don Perreault, Andrew Miesse, Paula Fitzgerald, Jaifa Halil and Kim Walker. The board then approved a motion to adjourn at 6:40 p.m.

Meeting records list Kim Walker as chair and Elizabeth Fernandes as board secretary. Administrators and staff noted as present included Superintendent Kristina J.
