The Manchester City Council on Monday adopted Resolution 49 approving a fiscal‑year 2024–25 budget amendment after a public hearing yielded no public comment.
Eric, a city staff member, told the council the amendment worksheet lists the same items discussed earlier with department heads and that ‘‘the total revenues the fiscal year 25 amendment we’re amending the revenues to 18,244 on that spreadsheet I did and the expenses are amending to 17,947. So the revenues more than cover the expenditures.’’ He said the adjustment reflects timing of capital projects, borrowing that had not been in the original budget, higher self‑insurance costs, and additional staffing and engineering expenses for ongoing projects.
After closing the public hearing, the council moved and voted to adopt Resolution 49. The roll call recorded Joe, Linda, Brian, Bill and Maryanne voting yes.
The council’s action completes the formal amendment process the state requires; staff said the changes mirror conversations held during budget preparation and are intended to align estimated revenues and expenditures before the fiscal year-end.
