Northfield Ag Commission to digitize agricultural map using QGIS and AI; next meeting March 11

At the Feb. 20 meeting the Northfield Agricultural Commission discussed updating the town's agricultural map and moving data into QGIS (Quantum Geographic Information System). Member Jesse Robertson-Dubois said he will attempt to use artificial intelligence to transcribe data from the printed agricultural map into the town's QGIS layer to save manual typing.
Secretary Stacy Bond said she would email a contact at the Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG) to see if that office can provide technical assistance. Bond also reminded members to complete required online ethics training and to file any conflict-of-interest declarations with the Town Clerk.
Members set the commission's next meeting for Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 7 p.m.; the location was left as TBD because Town Hall's elevator is broken. The commission adjourned at 7:46 p.m.
