NORTHFIELD, Mass. — The Northfield Agricultural Commission met March 11, 2025, at Dickinson Memorial Library and approved minutes from its Feb. 20 meeting before turning to updates to the town Agricultural Map.
Chair Jesse Robertson-Dubois reported that he had transferred the commission’s map data into a Google spreadsheet so members could review and document edits collaboratively; the group then worked through updates with changes recorded by the chair. The minutes say the commission is also beginning updates in QGIS (Quantum Geographic Information System) to reflect those spreadsheet changes.
Vice Chair Kristy Norwood moved to approve the Feb. 20, 2024 minutes; Jose Madiedo seconded. Roll-call votes recorded in the minutes were: Bill Llewelyn aye, Norwood aye, Madiedo aye, Don Baker abstained (not present at the Feb. 20 meeting), and Chair Robertson-Dubois aye; the motion passed.
Treasurer Don Baker raised a notice about an upcoming poultry workshop at the Greenfield Farmers Cooperative in Greenfield. Chair Robertson-Dubois said he would locate the workshop information and share it with the commission and that he planned to create a Northfield Agricultural Commission page on Facebook and a presence on Nextdoor to improve outreach.
The commission scheduled its next meeting for Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall. Bill Llewelyn moved to adjourn at 8:09 p.m.; Kristy Norwood seconded. A roll-call vote recorded all members present as voting aye and the meeting was adjourned at 8:09 p.m.
