Northfield fire chief: new turnout gear in use; additional ordered items expected in months

Fire Chief Jason Buss told Northfield council on May 27 that turnout gear purchased with a Firehouse Subs grant has been delivered and is already in service. He said the department also picked up personal protective equipment allocated to the village from the State of Ohio and distributed masks, face shields and gloves among village departments.
When Councilmember Gary Vojtush asked whether additional turnout gear and boots authorized at the previous meeting had arrived, Chief Buss said those items have not yet been delivered but he expects them within about three months.
The chief's distribution of state-provided PPE to multiple village departments was presented as part of routine department reports; no formal vote or appropriation was recorded at the meeting.
