Northfield council waives Spring Cleanup permit fees, accepts court disbursal report

Northfield Mayor Jesse Nehez convened the council on May 27, 2020. Councilmembers approved routine business including minutes from the May 13 meeting and accepted the April Mayor's Court monthly disbursal report.
Law Director Brad Bryan presented the April Mayor's Court report and asked council to accept it. Councilmember Renell Noack moved to accept the disbursal report; Councilmember Gary Vojtush seconded. A roll-call vote was recorded: Mr. Czerr—yes; Ms. Noack—yes; Mr. Vojtush—yes; Mr. Magistrelli—yes; Mr. Hipps—yes; Ms. Domzalski—yes. The motion passed.
Bryan then asked council to waive village residential zoning and building permit fees for the Spring Cleanup period running May 18 through July 1, 2020. Councilmember Alan Hipps moved to waive the fees; Mr. Vojtush seconded. The same six councilmembers voted yes and the motion was approved, temporarily eliminating those permit fees for the stated cleanup window.
Council also approved the May 13, 2020 minutes after a motion by Ms. Noack and a second by Mr. Hipps. The roll-call vote on the minutes recorded six yes votes and the minutes were adopted.
What this means: residents undertaking cleanup activities during the specified period will not be charged village residential zoning or building permit fees related to those cleanup efforts. The fee waiver applies only for the dates cited and does not change standard permitting outside the Spring Cleanup window.
