Bourne School Committee approves superintendent evaluation with overall rating 'Proficient'

According to the evaluation summary presented to the committee, Dr. Zhou was rated Exceeded in professional practice and for one district improvement goal, Met in student learning and one district improvement goal, and Proficient in the instructional leadership, management and operations, and family and community engagement standards. Chair Berry noted the committee's appreciation for Dr. Zhou's collaborative approach to contract negotiations, emphasis on student voice, and attention to equity.
Committee members offered positive remarks about Dr. Zhou's leadership and engagement with stakeholders. The motion to approve the evaluation was made by Kerrie Scofield, seconded by Kendellynn Gagne, and passed by voice vote, 7-0-0. Dr. Zhou thanked the committee and attributed the accomplishments to the broader district leadership team.
The committee did not attach changes to Dr. Zhou's employment terms at this meeting; the evaluation will inform ongoing work and future goals.
