School committee approves updated Cape Cod Collaborative agreement adding Plymouth

The Bourne School Committee voted unanimously on March 5 to approve revised Articles of Agreement for the Cape Cod Collaborative that add the town of Plymouth.
Patrick Murphy, business manager for the Collaborative, told the committee the organization provides programming, services and professional development to school districts in the region to meet diverse student needs, particularly for children with severe special needs. "We have the opportunity to bring Plymouth into the Collaborative," Murphy said, describing the addition as the culmination of long-standing discussions.
Maureen Fuller, who reported on the Collaborative's recent meetings, said the only substantive change to the Articles was adding Plymouth to the list of member towns and routine language updates. Kerrie Scofield moved to approve the revised Articles (the document is labeled as updated April 2025); Kari MacRae seconded the motion and a voice vote carried 7-0-0. Chair Emily Berry congratulated Hope Hascomb and Mr. Murphy requested the chair's signature to finalize the paperwork.
Committee members said they expect the expanded membership to benefit students across the region by broadening access to specialized programs and shared services. The committee took no other formal action on the item beyond approving the revised Articles.
