Members of the Northeastern Connecticut Transit District met Dec. 4, 2015, and agreed on six regional priorities to guide applications under the RPI program. Mr. Gray called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m., and Mr. Filchak provided an overview of the RPI program and recent grant work including GIS, TNR and the Pre‑Hospital Emergency Care Study.
The members discussed and decided on the following priorities to be advanced in grant applications: pre‑hospital emergency service implementation; a regional household hazardous‑waste site; an enhanced regional animal services facility; an agricultural value‑added processing and marketing feasibility study; regional human resources, technology and information management through shared back‑office functions; and road maintenance equipment.
The director was assigned to prepare the individual grant applications and submit them to the Connecticut Office of Policy and Management for review. Towns were requested to act on or before March 31, 2016, to endorse the applications they choose to support; the transcript records no roll‑call vote or recorded tally on the decision.
