The Township of Stronach Planning Commission met May 6, 2025 and approved edits to the Master Plan through page 30 after the Secretary noted the discussed changes; the motion to accept the edits was made by Terry Lindeman, seconded by Carl Lacki, and carried unanimously.
Zoning Administrator Larry Thompson reported on enforcement work in the village, noting two of three recent nuisance complaints (parking and noise) had been addressed. Thompson also raised potential regulatory issues related to splitting parcels and new-build requirements tied to parcel size and required road frontage; the commission discussed those matters but took no immediate regulatory action.
Commissioners reviewed samples of cost-recovery ordinances provided earlier by Thompson and agreed the three briefest samples should be further reviewed at the next Planning Commission meeting on June 3. Commissioners recommended that the township attorney draft or at least review any new ordinance language before local adoption.
The commission also voted unanimously to reschedule a missed February meeting to immediately follow the June 3 meeting; the Secretary noted the rescheduled meeting will be posted on the township hall doors. No new business items were presented and the meeting adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
