Collier school board acknowledges annual audit, approves construction and purchasing contracts

The District School Board of Collier County acknowledged receipt of the district’s annual comprehensive financial report and related independent auditor reports for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025, and approved a large slate of consent-agenda construction and procurement items at its Jan. 20 meeting.
Board Chair Stephanie Lucarelli opened the meeting and the board recorded unanimous approval to accept the financial documents and acknowledge the auditor reports. Finance staff presented November 2025 budget amendments and financial statements before the board’s acknowledgment of the annual report.
The consent agenda included multiple guaranteed maximum price (GMP) contract reconciliations and final completions: roof replacements at Naples Park Elementary and the Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. Administrative Center; beach volleyball court projects at Palmetto Ridge and Baron Collier High Schools; replacement of a Gulf Coast High School weight-room concrete slab; direct material purchase and sales tax reduction adjustments tied to several projects; and other site- and building-related work. The board also approved purchases for synthetic athletic fields, preventative maintenance and repair services for Daikin and Trane chillers, installation of performance surfacing at multiple physical-education pavilions, and increases to stop-loss coverage for the district’s medical and pharmacy plans.
All consent items were bundled and approved on a single motion after staff noted a change to the executive summary and the addition of attachments. The motion to approve the agenda and subsequent consent items passed on recorded roll calls with board members Eric Carter, Stephanie Lucarelli, Kelly Mason, Tim Moshear and Jerry Rutherford recorded in favor on the listed motions.
The board also approved an interlocal donation agreement with the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, and noted an attorney-client review would follow for a listed case settlement.
