The Administration/Personnel Committee of the Village of Suttons Bay recommended on June 3 that the Village Council approve reserving two parking spaces for the village clerk and treasurer to address growing seasonal parking shortages near Marina Park.
Village staff told the committee that increased use of waterfront parks — specifically Marina Park beach — has tightened parking availability during summer months, in some cases forcing staff to park along M-22 or farther away. To reduce that burden, staff identified two spaces to be signed for exclusive use by the clerk and treasurer and to carry a tow warning; the committee agreed to forward the proposal to the Village Council for approval.
Committee members also discussed potential future metering of Front Street as another tool to manage peak demand, but no formal decision or motion on metering was recorded at the meeting. Separately, attendees noted that the Utility/Marina Committee recommended forwarding a Marina Ordinance update to the Village Council for approval; this was presented as a status update rather than a new action by the Administration/Personnel Committee.
The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. and adjourned at 9:00 a.m. There were no public comments recorded during the session. Meeting notes were submitted by Dorothy Petroskey, clerk.
