Zoning administrator: Inland Seas expansion needs fire and DPW approvals before construction

Zoning Administrator Steve Patmore told the Planning Commission on May 20 that a condition of the commission’s December 2025 approval for the Inland Seas expansion requires the applicants to obtain site-plan approval from the fire department and the Department of Public Works to remove a secondary access to the site.
Patmore said he had recent conversations with the fire chief and the DPW manager, who indicated Inland Seas had not yet approached them. Patmore reported Inland Seas had indicated a desire to begin construction in June, but that required the outstanding departmental approvals.
No formal action was taken by the commission at the May 20 meeting; staff will follow up with the departments and report back to the commission on the status of those approvals.
