Sherman School Building Committee approves FF&E plans and a revised $992,106 FF&E budget

The School Building Committee approved furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) plans and specifications and authorized a revised FF&E budget at its June 15 meeting.

Michael LoSasso of Antinozzi described changes to the procurement approach: vendor pricing delays for technology prompted the team to split FF&E and technology packages into more phases (three total) to manage costs. The team plans to use state-based contracts where possible to contain furniture-price increases.

On a motion from Tim Laughlin, seconded by Kerry Merkel, the committee approved "volume one" FF&E plans dated June 10, 2026, and separately approved the associated specifications and project manual (both approvals passed unanimously). Laughlin told the committee that CSG is finalizing a 1049R submission to the state and recommended submitting a single 1049R that reflects the updated budget figures.

The committee approved a phase two FF&E budget of $992,106.00 for state project numbers 127-0009 (Sherman School) and 127-0010 (Central Administration). The minutes list Sherman School eligible amount as $963,263.56 and an ineligible amount of $10,800.00; Central Administration eligible amount was recorded as $18,042.44. The minutes note the revised total represents a $217,106.00 increase from the original budget.

Chair Kerry Merkel said she would sign required 1049R documentation at Town Hall and would send reminders to outstanding signatories. Tim Laughlin requested that Samantha D'Agostino provide the committee with additional context, including owner and construction contingency and allowance tracking, along with agendas and other supporting documentation before future meetings.
