Sherman commission approves change to vendor rules, will send wording to Board of Selectmen

The Sherman Park and Recreation Commission voted unanimously June 8 to approve revised wording for Section A #13 of its Rules and Regulations governing licensed refreshment vendors and will forward the change to the Board of Selectmen for placement on a Town Meeting warrant. The commission’s chair, Fran Frattini, circulated the proposed text and said she and former commission member Rachel Booth, Esq., had worked on the revision.
Under the approved language, licensed refreshment vendors may operate on park property up to two times per calendar day, with total operating time not exceeding one hour. The commission may, at its discretion, authorize extensions beyond the one‑hour limit if a vendor submits a request and receives formal approval at a regularly scheduled commission meeting prior to the extended operation. The commission discussed fee structures and the possibility of encouraging food trucks to lease a parking space.
Kris Fazzone moved to approve the proposed new wording as edited by Rachel Booth; Patrick Dillett seconded. The motion was approved with all in favor. Frattini said the approved wording will be submitted to the Board of Selectmen to be included for a vote at the next Town meeting.
