The Pleasant Grove City Council voted to create a city seniors program and to include funding for it in the 2025–26 budget. The council named Miss Dansby as the program director and set a start date of Jan. 6 for a meet-and-greet at the community center.
During the motion the mayor said the program is intended for residents aged 55 and older. Council approved a separate motion allowing the city’s seniors program to accept donations; the mayor clarified that any donations will be received and managed by the city with checks and balances administered through city offices.
Councilors offered to volunteer for program activities and encouraged residents with relevant skills to assist. Staff will distribute the program’s activity list and calendar to the council and the community following the adoption of the program.
