Committee members discussed the role of the district leadership team in managing the account and asked how incidents affecting students or schools should be communicated to parents. Dr. Roy Seitsinger, district staff, said there is no strict current procedure and that the district may develop a more detailed protocol.
Members also agreed to make more information available to the public during meetings, including proposed policies and presentation slides; staff recommended that materials that can be provided should be printed and included with meeting agendas. The committee discussed returning open forums in a more public format to encourage community engagement.
Committee members noted a broader plan for all Board of Education meetings to be broadcast virtually by January 2026 to increase accessibility. No formal policy or vote on communications protocol was adopted; staff were asked to draft recommendations and any required waivers for future review.
