Public Works Director Shawn Breazeale told the Pleasantville City Council on April 21 that the city's water loss report "indicates up to a 36% loss." Breazeale said he has been investigating and believes the issue stems from one of the large meters; he has ordered replacement parts to address the problem.
Councilmember Aaron Hurt asked whether a Department of Natural Resources noncompliance letter had been included in the council packet. Breazeale said the letter was added to the packets for review. Hurt then asked that the item be placed on the next meeting agenda for discussion and a possible closed session.
The report and the DNR correspondence together prompted the council to direct staff to include the item for the next meeting so members can review the DNR concerns and the Public Works investigation before deciding next steps. No formal motion or vote on remedial measures was recorded at the April 21 meeting.
