Preston School District board holds special executive session on collective bargaining and personnel; no action taken

The Preston School District Board of Education convened a special executive session Sept. 8, 2025 to discuss collective bargaining and confidential personnel matters and adjourned the meeting without taking public action.

Board Chair Megan Gallant called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. Other members present at the start were Dan Harris, Courtney Ennis, Nicole Serra and Cindy Luty; Michael Hinton and Deborah Burke-Grabarek joined after the meeting was underway. Superintendent Dr. Roy Seitsinger and Recording Secretary Gloria Homiski were also noted as present.

The board moved to enter executive session to discuss collective bargaining under Conn. Gen. Stat. §1-210(b)(9) and confidential personnel matters under Conn. Gen. Stat. §1-200(6). The motion to enter executive session named Dr. Roy Seitsinger, Recording Secretary Gloria Homiski and Attorney Nick Grello as invited participants. The motion was moved by Cindy Luty, seconded by Courtney Ennis, and recorded as carrying unanimously.

The public minutes state the board came out of executive session at 6:53 p.m.; the motion to exit executive session was moved by Nicole Serra, seconded by Courtney Ennis, and also recorded as unanimous. The meeting was then adjourned at 6:53 p.m. on a motion moved by Courtney Ennis and seconded by Nicole Serra. The record notes that no action was taken during the open portion of the meeting after the executive session.
