Centerville council approves FY27 salary resolution, authorizes sale of service weapon and orders Oak Street improvements

Centerville City Council members approved a series of administrative and public-works measures at the May 18, 2026 regular meeting, voting unanimously with Councilmember Kruzic absent.
The council adopted Resolution 2026-4216, the FY27 Salary Resolution, on a motion by Councilmember Hoffinan seconded by Councilmember Hamilton. The roll call recorded Councilmembers Brauman, Creagan, Hamilton and Hoffinan voting aye; Kruzic was absent.
The council also approved Resolution 2026-4224, which authorizes the sale of a service weapon to a retiring police officer. That motion was moved by Councilmember Brauman and seconded by Councilmember Creagan; the roll call recorded Brauman, Creagan, Hamilton and Hoffinan voting aye.
Separately, the council voted to order construction of certain public improvements for the Oak Street Project and set a date for hearing and taking bids. Councilmember Creagan moved the measure, seconded by Councilmember Hamilton; the motion passed with Brauman, Creagan, Hamilton and Hoffinan voting aye.
Other procedural business included approval of the consent agenda (minutes, committee minutes, liquor and tobacco licenses, monthly wastewater report and a FY26 salary amendment), approval of the bills, and acceptance of the April 2026 financial report. Public attendance and roll call showed four members present and one absent.
The council adjourned at 6:21 p.m. and will meet next on June 1, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
