Sudbury boards reappoint leaders, approve 2025 reports and rules

Chair John Riordan opened a joint virtual meeting of the Town of Sudbury's Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) and Earth Removal Board (ERB) on Feb. 2, 2026, at 7:00 PM and confirmed a quorum for both boards.
The ZBA completed its reorganization early in the meeting. Mr. Riordan moved to appoint Frank Riepe as Clerk, a motion seconded by Michael Hershberg; the board recorded a roll-call vote with Riordan voting Aye, Riepe Abstaining, Hershberg Aye and Alexander Dorjets Aye. Riordan then moved to reappoint himself as chair; Hershberg seconded and the motion passed on a roll-call vote with Riordan, Riepe, Hershberg and Dorjets recorded as Aye. Jennifer Pincus joined the meeting at that point and participated in subsequent votes.
The ZBA voted to approve its 2025 Annual Report and to adopt the ZBA Rules and Regulations for 2025 after motions were moved and seconded; roll-call votes recorded all members present voting Aye. The board also approved Supplemental Rules for Comprehensive Permits and voted to accept the meeting minutes from Dec. 8, 2025; each motion passed on roll-call votes.
On the ERB side, Chair Jonathan Patch indicated willingness to continue as chair. William Ray moved to reappoint Patch as chair; the motion passed on a roll-call vote with Patch recorded as Abstain and Roopenian, Dorjets and Ray recorded as Aye. The Earth Removal Board also approved its 2025 Annual Report and Rules and Regulations by roll-call vote and then moved to adjourn.
The joint meeting concluded with formal adjournment motions and was dismissed at 8:03 PM.
