Sudbury commission approves Phase V inventory copies, reviews cemetery kiosk and Indigenous Cultural Landscape RFQ

At its Jan. 20 meeting the Sudbury Historical Commission approved publication copies of the Phase V Survey historic resource inventory, received updates about a Revolutionary War Cemetery kiosk and entrance sign, and reviewed a draft RFQ for a town-wide Indigenous Cultural Landscape Study.
Jan Costa reported the Phase V Inventory is complete and moved to approve producing up to 12 copies at a cost of $1,050; the motion to purchase the copies was seconded and recorded as passing unanimously. She also said the inventory report for the South Sudbury Train Station will cost $550 and will be paid from general funds. Costa added that the Revolutionary War Cemetery kiosk is in production, but the white entrance sign has been placed on hold pending Sudbury Historic Districts Commission review of the finish.
Commissioner William Andreas presented a draft RFQ for the Indigenous Cultural Landscape Study; Chair Chris Hagger suggested adding a minimum number of references and extending the deadline, and recommended clarifying steering committee procedures, invoice submittal, number of hard copies required and deliverables. Ms. Katz questioned the length and scope of the RFQ; Mr. Andreas said much of the work already exists in Massachusetts Historical Commission files.
Ms. Costa also reported an update from the Community Preservation Committee: all but one application had been approved and the CPC will consider a potential sunset clause on outstanding grants at a future meeting.
