Design Review Board recommends Zayith change small sign line to “Bazaar,” approves revised sign

The Town of Sudbury Design Review Board recommended approval April 29 for a revision to the existing storefront sign at Zayith, 621 Boston Post Road, after a presentation from owner Monali Kofsk.
Kofsk said the restaurant currently displays “Zayith” in large letters (11 to 17.1 inches high) and “Tapas and Bar” in the bottom right in smaller letters (3.5 inches). She proposed changing the smaller wording to “Bazaar” without altering the sign’s overall dimensions or the 3.5‑inch letter height. Member Scott Utke said the word “Bazaar” did not appear to describe a restaurant establishment. Kofsk responded that the change was recommended by her marketing staff “since the existing wording ‘Tapas and Bar’ does not reflect accurately the offering at this restaurant establishment.”
Board members and the Zoning Board confirmed the revised sign meets Town bylaws and does not require a special permit. Scott Utke moved to recommend approval, Ark Pang seconded, and the board voted 4–0 in favor. No conditions were recorded.
