Design Review Board approves illuminated west-façade sign for Chase Bank

The Sudbury Design Review Board on Feb. 25 approved a new externally illuminated wall sign for Chase Bank’s branch at 527 Boston Post Road after staff confirmed the proposed sign fits within the building’s remaining allowable signage.
Eric Metzger of Philadelphia Sign Company told the board the bank seeks to add an 84-inch by 15-inch wall sign on the west façade in addition to existing signage. Metzger said the property has an internally illuminated primary sign of 19.2 square feet, which reduces the remaining allowable square footage; the proposed new sign (8.75 sq ft) plus an existing 2.3-square-foot ATM sign were determined to conform to the remaining maximum allowed by the town’s zoning review.
Member Scott Utke moved to approve the signs as presented in materials dated Feb. 9, 2026; Ark Pang seconded. The motion passed 3-0 (Vollaro-aye, Pang-aye, Utke-aye). The board’s vote affirmed the earlier zoning calculation that the proposed signage totals remain within the allowable limit for the property.
