Hosmer House and Hearse House: restoration proposals, archivist contract and May opening

Commissioners reviewed several items related to the Hosmer House and the planned Hearse House opening. Mr. Hagger said restoration proposals for the Hosmer House are under review, and Mr. Greene reported seeking a Freedom Way Grant of $350 to help pay for a Hearse House kiosk.
Mr. Greene said he is attempting to locate a conveyance or rural hearse from the 1800s for display; Mr. Hagger noted the New London, New Hampshire Historical Society has a rural hearse in a hearse house. Mr. Greene also provided background on historic undertaking in Sudbury.
On Hosmer House operations, Mr. Greene asked commissioners to volunteer for upcoming open houses; Mr. Durall said he would place the open house advertisement and Ms. Burns agreed to schedule a housekeeping/cleaning in May ahead of the town’s 250th celebration. Mr. Durall also reported that Sudbury Historical Society Director and Archivist Francesco Buccella has signed the archivist contract and that a town signature will allow a kick‑off meeting to be scheduled.
