Sudbury Earth Removal Board reappoints Jonathan Patch as chair; approves 2024 annual report and rules

The Town of Sudbury Earth Removal Board reappointed Jonathan Patch as chair and approved its 2024 annual report and Rules and Regulations during a brief virtual session on Feb. 3, 2025.
Chair Jonathan Patch opened the Earth Removal Board portion of the joint meeting with the Zoning Board of Appeals at about 7:10 p.m. and said he would be willing to continue as chair for another year. Member William Ray moved to reappoint Patch; Michael Hershberg seconded. In the roll-call vote Patch abstained, and Bryan Gammons, Michael Hershberg and William Ray voted Aye, carrying the motion (3 Aye, 0 No, 1 Abstain).
Patch then moved to approve the Earth Removal Board's 2024 Annual Report; Ray seconded. The board voted unanimously to approve the report, with all four members (Patch, Gammons, Hershberg and Ray) recorded as Aye. The board followed with a motion by William Ray, seconded by Chair Patch, to approve the Rules and Regulations for 2024; that motion also passed by unanimous roll-call vote.
After completing the reorganization and housekeeping items, Chair Patch moved to adjourn the Earth Removal portion of the meeting at 7:16 p.m.; Ray seconded and the board voted Aye to adjourn. No public testimony or substantive policy debate on specific earth removal permits is recorded in the Earth Removal portion of the minutes.
The meeting was held jointly with the Zoning Board of Appeals, which convened at 7:04 p.m. and had its legal notice read into the record by Clerk Frank Riepe at the start of the session.
