Chair Dave Lee led the Long Range Capital Planning Committee on Feb. 18 through an asset-scoring spreadsheet intended to rate town-owned facilities and other assets once staff or volunteers complete dropdown fields and notes for each item. The committee approved minutes from Jan. 21, confirmed its next meeting for March 18, and adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
Why it matters: The committee is building an inventory and condition-rating system intended to guide long-range capital decisions. Completing the spreadsheet will determine which facilities need maintenance or replacement sooner, and the committee said it will rely on multiple people and staff contacts to finish the work.
At the meeting, Chair Dave Lee presented the asset-scoring summary documents, explaining that each asset record includes dropdown menus for standardized fields and a notes column; once fields are filled in a condition rating is established. Lee said he will contact S. Cates about several assets and will separate the school-related assets for focused review.
Committee member Justin Phaiah said he would receive the separated school asset list; Phaiah noted that C. Barrett could fill out the school entries. The committee did not set a deadline for completing the entries during the meeting.
In routine business, committee member Matt Allen moved to approve the Jan. 21 meeting minutes; Justin Phaiah seconded and the motion passed. Later in the agenda, Sandy Brodeur delivered a public notice that the Town needs a facilities manager. The committee confirmed March 18, 2026, as its next meeting date.
The meeting began at 6:21 p.m. and adjourned at 6:45 p.m. after a motion to adjourn by Matt Allen, seconded by Justin Phaiah.
