Park and Recreation Commission approves Haskell bathroom, leash-law signs, LED scoreboards and appointments

The Sudbury Park and Recreation Commission took a series of unanimous actions Dec. 8, approving a Haskell bathroom renovation, new leash-law signs for town recreation properties, installation of solar LED scoreboards at Featherland fields by Sudbury Youth Baseball, the appointment of a liaison to the Council on Disability, approval of Oct. 21 minutes, and adjournment.
Granger Atkenson moved to approve the Haskell bathroom renovation for $66,000; Ben Carmel seconded and the motion passed 5-0. Laurie Eliason moved to approve leash-law sign option #2; Ben Carmel seconded and the motion passed 5-0. Bobby Beagan moved to approve Sudbury Youth Baseball’s request to install solar-powered LED scoreboards at Featherland (one scoreboard per year for three years); Laurie Eliason seconded and the motion passed 5-0.
Chair Mara Huston moved to appoint Commissioner Bobby Beagan as the Park and Recreation liaison to the Council on Disability; Ben Carmel seconded and the motion passed 5-0. Commissioners also voted to approve the Oct. 21 meeting minutes (motion by Laurie Eliason, seconded by Bobby Beagan) and subsequently voted to adjourn (motion seconded by Granger Atkenson); both actions passed unanimously.

Implementation notes: Victor Garofalo confirmed town staff will handle installation steps for leash-law signs and that the Haskell demolition and electrical work will be completed by the Town. Sudbury Youth Baseball will coordinate scoreboard siting with Park and Grounds staff.
