Zoning Enforcement Officer Jay Gigliotti presented the commission’s monthly report at the March 13 meeting, listing three permits issued since the last meeting: a cottage kitchen and farm stand on South Bear Hill Road, a storage shed on Willimantic Road, and a storage shed on Phoenixville Road. The report was noted as available at Town Hall.
During items pro re nata, Commissioner Randy Godaire asked about the fines associated with 80 Marcy Road, noting a figure of $9,300, and suggested the commission consider asking for a partial payment to fund dumpsters should that be necessary for cleanup. Members noted that the town is pursuing an appeal of the fines and that the commission itself has no jurisdiction over that appeal process.
Chair Doug Dubitsky urged attention to proposed state bills discussed in the prior month’s minutes, saying the measures appear to be moving quickly and could be unfavorable for the town; he said the commission is trying to seek exemptions for small towns. No formal action on the bills was recorded at the meeting.
With no new business on the agenda the commission adjourned at 8:10 PM.
