Planning Board backs Articles 26 and 36 for 2027 Annual Town Meeting and discusses wireless bylaw

The Sudbury Planning Board voted 5–0 to recommend support for two zoning/land‑use warrant articles to be placed on the 2027 Annual Town Meeting warrant.
Adam Burney summarized Article 26 as proposing to grant an easement at the entrance to Chiswick Park to design and construct added parking and stormwater infrastructure serving the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail and the Mass Central Rail Trail. Board members noted that trail users currently park on nearby streets and supported the article; the Board recommended support by voice vote.
Burney described Article 36 as funding design, engineering and construction of a parking area to connect Duck Pond to Dutton Road via a boardwalk. Member Kirsten Roopenian noted the proposed parking would be reserved for handicapped use only. The Board voted unanimously to recommend support (27 CPA‑1) at the 2027 Annual Town Meeting.
Burney also said the Wireless Bylaw will be presented at the 2027 Annual Town Meeting and reminded members of an Open Space and Recreation Plan open house scheduled for May 28, 2026 at the Fairbank Community Center.
The Board recorded its recommendations and directed staff to include these positions in the Board’s warrant recommendations to Town Meeting.
