Clark Lane Elementary held a walk‑a‑thon in which every student walked or ran to raise money; the superintendent said the school raised over $41,000 to benefit three charities identified in the report. The superintendent thanked event organizers and singled out Jim and others for their work.
The district partnered with Safe Futures to deliver programming on respectful relationships to eighth graders; staff said Waterford Public Schools and Safe Futures secured a three‑year grant to continue work at middle and high school levels.
Waterford High School handed out about $128,000 in school‑based scholarships to more than 100 seniors, and on June 11 the high school held its inaugural mental health fair featuring mental health professionals and resource organizations. The district also continued year‑end traditions including senior grad walks and is preparing summer academy and curriculum work for the coming months.
The superintendent closed by thanking staff and leaders for a successful end of year and noting behind‑the‑scenes work to prepare for summer and the next academic year.
