Commissioners discussed the possibility of having the winning essay read at the Juneteenth celebration at Lincoln‑Sudbury Regional High School. James Goudie‑Murray agreed to confirm whether American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds available to the town could be used to pay prizes; the commission said it will explore alternative funding sources if ARPA is not available.
The commission authorized Janine Taylor to revise the September report and to present a quarterly update at the Jan. 20 Select Board meeting, where the commission will also seek permission to use DEI funds for the competition. No formal funding decision or final prize distribution mechanism was recorded during the meeting.
