During open dialogue on Sept. 11 Safa reported a prior zoom-bombing incident at a Committee on Diversity (COD) meeting in which expletives were used. Safa also said she had received a hateful email addressed to the DEI commission in her spam folder. Thomas and Janine described previous experiences with similar disruptions; Janine said she has received training to manage such situations.
Andy, the town manager, advised steps to mitigate future incidents, including forwarding hostile emails to Mark Thompson and using a co-host for meeting controls so two people can manage the session. Janine said she will add co-hosts for future meetings.
