Sudbury DEI Commission readies annual report, to present consultant and lived-experiences findings at Sept. 30 joint meeting

Commissioners reviewed an annual DEI report due Sept. 25 and preparations for a joint hybrid meeting with the Select Board on Sept. 30. The report will cover the commission’s accomplishments, challenges, the consultant review and future goals; a small edit was made to describe requests to other departments as periodic rather than bi-annual.
The commission agreed to post an agenda ahead of the joint meeting stating that members will present the annual report and Dr. Fernandez’s consultant report and invite discussion with the Select Board. Members will receive panelist access one week prior to the Sept. 30 meeting. Janine said she will share the consultant’s report and the Lived Experiences project report with Isaac prior to the joint session.
Isaac offered proposed questions the commission can use in the joint meeting to press for integrity and accountability in the commission’s work. The commission asked members to attend the Sept. 30 hybrid meeting; Select Board will host.
