Board of Finance elects Sandy Brodeur chair, Dave Lee vice‑chair; names Capital Expenditure Committee

The Brooklyn Board of Finance elected Sandy Brodeur as chair and Dave Lee as vice‑chair for calendar year 2026 during its Feb. 18 meeting.
Lance Metzger nominated Brodeur and moved to appoint her; Bob Smanik seconded and the motion carried. Metzger then nominated Dave Lee for vice‑chair; Cindy Dehner seconded and Lee was appointed. The board also assigned liaison duties: Cindy Dehner as liaison to the Board of Education, Metzger to Parks and Recreation, Heather Allen to the Board of Selectmen, and Sandy Brodeur to the Housing Authority. Bob Smanik will continue as liaison for the Building Committee and agreed to serve as liaison for the Water Pollution Control Authority.
The board also voted to appoint members to a Capital Expenditure Committee. The slate approved was Lou Brodeur (public), Kayla Burgess (Board of Education), John Burns (public), Mike Podzaline (public), Sherri Vogt (to represent the Board of Selectmen) and Dave Lee (Board of Finance). The committee is intended to review capital needs and requests and report back to the Board of Finance; members were asked to begin work ahead of the next budget review cycle.
All leadership appointments and committee memberships were approved by motion during the meeting; the minutes record no recorded opposition to these appointments.
