Clinton to launch free Memorial Day trolley; Parks & Recreation updates include new director and Eagle Scout project

Town Manager Michelle Benivegna told the council that the trolley route has been finalized and two advertising sponsors—Indian River Shops and Clinton Crossing—will help offset operational costs. The trolley will begin free service on Memorial Day weekend (May 25) and run Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays through Labor Day (September 7).
Benivegna also reported that an Eagle Scout candidate plans to fundraise for and install a bike repair station at Bailey’s Dog Park; once completed the scout will be formally recognized and photos will be shared.
Parks & Recreation updates are scheduled for June 3, when the commission will brief the council on field conditions and speaker systems. The council will meet Dustin Huguenin, the new Parks & Recreation Director, who begins May 18.
Other community items noted included the Resiliency Workshop hosted by the Economic Development Commission and town on June 9 (8:00–10:00 AM) and ongoing planning for the Summer Concert Series. Benivegna also noted the State DOT’s milling work on the I‑95 overpass on Route 81 and that traffic will be reduced to one lane from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM during that work.
