Good Hope council approves professional services contract for left-turn lane on County Road 437; names grand marshal

The Good Hope City Council unanimously approved Ordinance No. 025-2024 on Nov. 25, 2024, contracting Waggoner for professional services to design a left-turn lane on County Road 437. The council also approved the Nov. 12 meeting minutes and appointed Greg Brown as grand marshal for the city’s Christmas parade before adjourning at 6:56 p.m.

Mayor Jerry Bartlett called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Christie Chamblee offered the invocation, and roll call recorded Mayor Jerry Bartlett and Council Members Terry Shabel, Eric Phillips, and Taft Dillashaw as present; Council Members Susan Eller and Greg Brown and City Planner Corey Harbison were absent.

Taft Dillashaw moved to approve and adopt the Nov. 12, 2024, council meeting minutes; Eric Phillips seconded and the motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote. The council then considered ORDINANCE NO: 025-2024, a motion by Taft Dillashaw to approve Waggoner for professional services related to a left-turn lane on County Road 437, seconded by Terry Shabel. The council recorded unanimous yea votes and approved the motion.

Following the ordinance vote, Taft Dillashaw moved that Greg Brown be the grand marshal for the Good Hope Christmas parade. Mayor Jerry Bartlett seconded; the council voted unanimously to approve the appointment.

With business concluded, Terry Shabel moved to adjourn the meeting; Taft Dillashaw seconded and the meeting was adjourned at 6:56 p.m. All recorded motions were approved by unanimous yea votes of the members present.
