Regional School District 17 board enters executive session to interview assistant superintendent candidate

Regional School District 17’s Board of Education met Nov. 3, 2025, via Google Meet and entered an executive session to interview an assistant superintendent candidate, according to the meeting minutes. Board Chair Suzanne Sack called the special meeting to order at 5:04 p.m.

The minutes state that “the board members will meet to have a discussion and interview with the assistant superintendent candidate,” noting this is the district’s second appointment of a superintendent-level position and that additional information about the assistant superintendent’s role will be discussed at the November board meeting. Interim Superintendent Paul K. Smith and Appointed Superintendent Dr. Patricia Sullivan-Kowalski were listed as present for the meeting; no visitors were recorded.

Board member Jennifer Favalora moved that the board go into executive session “for personal matters inviting our Superintendent for Schools Dr. Patricia Sullivan-Kowalski and interim Superintendent Paul K. Smith,” and Jennifer Voegtli seconded the motion.
